Frequently Asked Questions

Consultations Are Available, Please Call to Schedule

How long does the procedure take?

The procedures take approximately 2 hours. Touch-up procedures do not require as much time.

How do you pick a color?

There are several colors to pick from.  I will try to match the color you are now using and I will also consider your own natural skin tones.

Can you make my lips look Larger?

Yes, they will look larger by putting color where your natural lips color has faded out.

When will I be able to resume normal activity?

Eyebrows and eyeliner, right away. There is little swelling with these procedures.  Lips will take a couple of days for swelling to leave.

How long will permanent makeup last?

There will be some fading, but permanent makeup is PERMANENT.

What is typical investment cost?

  • Touch-ups and refreshers $100.00 an hour + Supplies; If original work was performed by Sandra Pierce.  *Average cost of supplies is $25.  The hour for Touch-ups is pro-rated. First time free touch-ups will also be charged supply fee.
  • Scar camouflage and breasts $100.00 an hour; Breast Cancer Survivors please contact Sandra for a FREE Consultation.
  • Eyeliner ~ Top and Bottom Lashes $400.00
  • Lips full $400.00
  • Lip liner $300.00
  • Brows    $300.00

Are there any side effects?

There may be unforeseen side effects due to individuality.  Generally there may be some swelling or bruising, lasting from 2 hours to 72 hours. Tenderness and crusting of the treated area may occur.  The color will appear darker and more vibrant for the first 5 to 7 days.

Do pigments pose allergy problems?

Allergic reactions are rare, but do occur.  Patch testing is one safeguard, but no guarantee.  Reactions can develop at anytime.

Are permanent cosmetics really permanent?

Technically, permanent cosmetics procedures are considered permanent because the color is implanted into the upper reticular part of dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, as with any tattoo, fading can and often does occur, requiring periodic maintenance, color re-enhancement or color refreshing.

Is it safe?

All needles are new and sterile.  State required sterilization and sanitary rules are practiced at all times at Joy, A Total Body Care Salon.
